The Department of Economics provides Master of Arts (M.A.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree options, along with a specialized PhD in Agricultural Economics offered jointly with the Department of Agribusiness and Agricultural Economics. Our graduate program features two distinct tracks: Economics and Econometrics (E&E) focuses more heavily on theoretical foundations (micro and macro), mathematical applications, and statistical techniques, while Economics and Society (E&S) emphasizes the socioeconomic impacts of wealth and power distribution on communities and environments. The E&E curriculum mandates additional core coursework in theory and quantitative methods, whereas the E&S path allows for greater customization based on individual research interests. Prospective students must select one track during application, as cross-admission isn't permitted. We strongly recommend reviewing each track's admission criteria and program structure to determine the optimal academic pathway.
Expected Completion Time - 4 years.
