Mathematics explores quantities, structures, spatial relationships, and transformations. Researchers in this field identify patterns and develop new hypotheses that offer foundational language, logical frameworks, and analytical methods utilized across various academic disciplines. The Faculty of Science Major program enables students to pursue in-depth studies in their selected discipline while maintaining academic diversity through complementary courses. Unlike the Honours track, the Major program allows greater flexibility, permitting students to choose electives from different University of Manitoba departments, though it delivers less specialized professional preparation.
