Labor studies analyzes the social, economic, and political aspects of employment. Learners investigate the history, current state, and prospects of workers' movements along with globalization's impact on everyday existence. The program critically assesses social equity, basic rights, work structures, power relations in employment settings, occupational health and safety, and labor's political economy. Practical applications reinforce theoretical concepts as students explore factors influencing workers' experiences and societal reactions. Bachelor of Arts General requirements: Complete 90 credit hours while maintaining at least a 2.0 GPA in all major courses. This curriculum especially benefits those planning to pursue careers or graduate studies after completing their Arts degree.

The following are minimum requirements for entry into the Bachelor of Arts in Labour Studies program. Meeting these requirements does not guarantee acceptance into the program.
Direct entry applicants are those who have not attended a post-secondary institution or have completed fewer than 24 credit hours at a recognized university or college.
Advanced entry applicants are those who have completed one year (24 credit hours) or more of studies in another faculty at the University of Manitoba or another recognized post-secondary institution.
