Historical research examines bygone eras to interpret current times and sheds light on contemporary issues through historical context.
Our History program enables students to explore, comprehend, and evaluate different historical periods and transformations. Participants will hone their writing abilities and analytical thinking.
The study of history interprets past events for modern understanding and reveals contemporary relevance through historical patterns. The program allows students to investigate, grasp, and appraise historical developments and evolution. Historical education cultivates excellent writing proficiency and analytical capabilities. Additionally, it fosters intellectual curiosity and discernment to equip students for their future endeavors. Furthermore, the program trains individuals who will pursue careers as academic historians.

Qualification Requirements
The following are minimum requirements for entry into the Bachelor of Arts in History program. Meeting these requirements does not guarantee acceptance into the program.
Direct entry applicants are those who have not attended a post-secondary institution or have completed fewer than 24 credit hours at a recognized university or college.
Advanced entry applicants are those who have completed one year (24 credit hours) or more of studies in another faculty at the University of Manitoba or another recognized post-secondary institution.
