The Master of Science program spans 24 months for full-time enrollment and 48 months for part-time study. This degree requires completion of a minimum of three advanced courses along with a thesis. All candidates must enroll in Algebra (Math 5405), Analysis (Math 5505), and an additional elective. Depending on individual preparation, some students might need to complete undergraduate-level coursework as prerequisites.

The thesis represents the program's most substantial academic requirement, typically involving novel research. Prospective students should first identify a faculty advisor and collaboratively develop a research proposal, including potential thesis topics, prior to program acceptance. Faculty expertise significantly influences this initial planning phase.

Our department is actively enhancing its research capabilities, with graduate students serving as vital contributors to this initiative. The majority of departmental faculty secure either external or institutional funding to advance their research projects.
