Biological sciences explore the realm of living creatures — ranging from microscopic organisms to humans and complete ecological systems. This field examines life across terrestrial, subterranean, and aerial environments. By investigating life's fundamental principles, biologists venture into diverse habitats to analyze organism-environment interactions, biological functions, and evolutionary developments.
The Biological Sciences Department emphasizes experiential education, transitioning students from conventional classroom learning to active research participation. As a research-driven discipline, biology opens doors to numerous specialization paths including environmental science, medical fields, microbial studies, and agricultural sciences. Modern biologists need comprehensive training in cellular/molecular biology, organismal studies, genetics, evolutionary theory, and ecological principles. The curriculum also mandates foundational coursework in chemistry, physics, and mathematics to establish robust scientific literacy.
