Discover how the human body functions, ways to optimize its performance, the root causes of health problems, and strategies for disease prevention. Build a solid foundation in scientific theory and use this understanding to work with diverse groups including healthy individuals, elite performers, those with chronic conditions, and people facing physical limitations. Gain the skills to excel in various settings like wellness programs, athletic training, recovery services, sports coaching, and scientific investigation.

During the initial two years, you'll master core concepts about human physiology. Experience unique first-year anatomy studies in a cadaver lab—an exceptional opportunity for undergraduate students.

Laboratory sessions complement your coursework with practical applications and interactive learning. These hands-on components are incorporated throughout your studies, deepening your knowledge of body structure, exercise programming, movement mechanics, fitness testing, and related subjects.

Complete a minimum of four specialized practicum courses that address contemporary industry needs while developing practical skills in your chosen focus areas. Options include Functional Capacity Assessment; Sports Injury Management; Combat Fitness Instruction; and Kinesiology in Legal Investigations.

Advanced coursework in years three and four emphasizes practical implementations of exercise science and nutritional principles for both performance enhancement and therapeutic purposes.

Graduates qualify to obtain certifications from leading professional bodies, including Ontario's Registered Kinesiologist credential, Personal Training Certification, Clinical Exercise Specialist designation, and Strength Coaching Certification.
