Over your four-year journey, you'll engage with the justice system at multiple levels: understanding legal frameworks, interacting with individuals and communities, and gaining practical experience in crime scene investigation and arrests. Develop essential competencies applicable across justice fields, including analytical reasoning, research techniques, and effective communication.
Your initial year establishes core knowledge in justice studies and related disciplines. The second year introduces specialized coursework covering service delivery systems like counseling, mediation, forensic science, and law enforcement practices.
During your sophomore year, you'll choose between two diploma specializations:
Community and Justice Services
Examines societal challenges while teaching community initiative development, victim/offender support strategies, and crime reduction approaches.
Or
Police Foundations
Equips you for careers across Canada's law enforcement spectrum within the judicial framework.
The final two years feature intensive coursework exploring complex topics including moral philosophy, equity principles, civil liberties, juvenile justice systems, and criminal behavior studies.
