The MBS is a one-year graduate program focused on coursework, culminating in a significant research project guided by a Faculty Advisor. Created as a shorter alternative to the MSc program, the MBS doesn't require a comprehensive written thesis. Many students choose this path when they're uncertain about pursuing a thesis-based degree or when seeking to enhance their qualifications for professional programs. Those who develop a passion for academic research during their MBS studies can transition to the MSc program before their third semester, allowing them to pursue a thesis-based graduate degree.

Research in this program emphasizes clinical pharmacology and toxicology, particularly involving domesticated and laboratory animals. Studies examine therapeutic drugs and environmental chemicals through various in vitro and in vivo experimental approaches.
