The Department of Food, Agricultural and Resource Economics focuses intensely on research while delivering exceptional education and community engagement initiatives. Our graduate curriculum applies modern theories and cutting-edge methodologies to address challenges in food systems, agricultural economics, natural resource management, and economic growth. These programs prepare students to become influential researchers and policymakers by emphasizing policy-focused, problem-driven investigations presented with precision and impact. Both MSc and PhD degrees cultivate essential analytical, technical, and presentation abilities for evaluating agricultural and environmental issues while effectively conveying research outcomes. The MSc combines coursework with original thesis research, typically spanning 5-6 semesters. The more advanced PhD program includes rigorous coursework, comprehensive examinations, and dissertation research, generally requiring about 12 semesters to complete.
