The School offers focused programs in either Art History or Studio Arts, as well as interdisciplinary options blending both fields. Degree requirements for both Studio Art and Art History include coursework across both disciplines. Numerous Art History classes welcome students from other majors. The Art History curriculum explores visual arts through historical lenses, examines art historical methods and critical theories, and addresses current trends in art exhibition and practice. Majors and Minors must complete specific course requirements at intermediate and advanced levels (2000-4000 level courses).

Qualification Requirements

If you are applying with an IB Diploma from outside of Canada, you should present a minimum score of 28. Many programs will require a higher score for admission consideration. Reported bonus points from TOK and EE will be taken into consideration. The secondary school graduation certificate which would admit a student to an internationally recognized university in his or her home country is normally acceptable for admission to the University of Guelph.
