UFV's Horticulture Crop Production and Protection certificate equips you with essential knowledge and skills for entering the horticulture field. This program focuses on sustainable crop cultivation, plant protection methods, and maintenance practices that align with eco-friendly farming and food security objectives. The one-year certificate fully articulates into the two-year Agriculture Technology diploma's Horticulture specialization. Certain credits may also apply to other horticulture programs. Eligible students can potentially earn first-year apprenticeship equivalency in production horticulture. Upon completing this certificate, you'll be prepared for employment in diverse settings including nurseries, agricultural operations, retail garden centers, golf facilities, and landscape firms. Additional career paths include municipal groundskeeping roles, government technical positions, or opportunities in agricultural sales, marketing, and support services. Many graduates pursue entrepreneurial ventures or join family agricultural businesses.Application deadlines:Winter term: September 30Spring term: February 1Autumn term: April 15
