Land frequently serves as a foundational element that shapes both ecological systems and community identities. Researchers in the Environment & Community group explore the connections between constructed spaces, human populations, and their natural surroundings. While maintaining environmental and communal studies as their primary focus, these scholars apply their specialized knowledge to diverse topics such as public participation in climate initiatives and social activism, the interplay between urban land utilization, community dynamics, and policy development, as well as examining various aspects of human-environment interactions.
