Employing digital tools to investigate core themes in arts and humanities disciplines, while using humanities perspectives to examine digital innovations. Digital Arts represents an interdisciplinary approach that merges theoretical foundations with hands-on creation across various media, including graphic design, digital photography, video/audio production, web development, animation techniques, digital writing, and mobile app creation. Uniting these disciplines within a single program fosters meaningful exchanges between artistic practice and humanistic inquiry - a dialogue fundamental to the Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies.
Graduate research in this program integrates Humanities, Social Sciences elements, and Creative Arts. It utilizes digital technologies and makerspace approaches to explore critical issues like equity, accessibility, environmental responsibility, cultural preservation, ethical considerations, workforce dynamics, ecological concerns, innovation, exhibition practices, cooperative work, user engagement, fabrication techniques, educational methods, and literary interpretation, while critically examining the role of computing technologies in society.
