The Kinesiology PhD is a research-focused, thesis-driven program. Research spans physiological, biomechanical, behavioral, and psychosocial aspects of human movement, along with examining societal and cultural shifts in physical activity's role.
Our Kinesiology doctoral program provides a dynamic, collaborative, and interdisciplinary research setting. Students choose our School to collaborate with particular faculty researchers, gaining from their specialized knowledge. Through a mentorship approach, candidates receive intensive guidance and training from dedicated faculty. Competitive funding packages, including teaching assistantships and entrance awards, are available for top applicants. The School of Kinesiology normally requires a thesis-based master's degree in Human Kinetics, Physical Education, Kinesiology, or other related fields of study, for admission.
