The PhD Program in Organizational Behaviour and Human Resources (OBHR) focuses on cultivating academic researchers who investigate organizational challenges, examining how management approaches impact individuals, interpersonal dynamics within workplaces, and inter-organizational relationships. This program is specifically designed for those pursuing academic careers rather than consulting or management roles.
Faculty in the OBHR Division are globally renowned scholars from diverse fields such as psychology, sociology, industrial relations, organizational behavior, and HR management. Their research explores varied topics including social networks, workplace trust, entrepreneurial studies, organizational learning, family enterprises, territorial behavior, power dynamics, diversity issues, workplace harassment, and social exclusion.
OBHR professors have earned multiple honors for both their research contributions and teaching innovations, consistently achieving top student evaluations within the Sauder School of Business. The division fosters a supportive environment marked by strong collaborative relationships among faculty and students.
Admission to the OBHR PhD program is highly competitive. Students are admitted into the program with Master's or undergraduate degrees with first class standing. The majority of incoming students have academic backgrounds in business administration, social sciences and the humanities.
