The School of Audiology and Speech Sciences is dedicated to enhancing understanding of human communication, its disorders, and associated fields through rigorous research and by training future audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and research scholars. Students can pursue a Ph.D. program with specialized professional training in various disciplines, including: language and cognitive communication disorders, bilingual studies, childhood language impairments, phonetic and phonological development, discourse analysis, swallowing disorders, electrophysiological and otoacoustic diagnostic methods, auditory science, language learning processes, speech sound disorders, psycholinguistics, speech perception research, and age-related speech comprehension challenges.
An applicant to the doctoral program should have completed a master's degree, typically in audiology and speech sciences, psychology, linguistics, or a related discipline.
