Investigate solutions to intricate resource challenges while examining worldwide food systems and their connection to human and environmental wellbeing, agricultural systems, and beyond. You'll craft a personalized degree path and have chances to study abroad, equipping yourself for an international career. The Global Resource Systems (GRS) program acknowledges that addressing complex resource issues demands diverse skills and a worldwide, multidisciplinary perspective. GRS prepares you with advanced global awareness, sharp problem-solving abilities, and the assurance to apply your expertise internationally. You'll join the program after finishing your first year in Land and Food Systems, Arts, or Sciences. During your third and fourth years, you'll choose a specific resource field and global region to concentrate your studies. In this flexible program, you'll tackle both local and global resource concerns, shaping your academic journey by combining science, humanities, and social science courses from various UBC faculties.
Applicants must have the graduation from a university-preparatory program at a senior secondary school: Higher Secondary School Certificate awarded on completion of Standard XII. Certificates must be official. Photocopies are acceptable if certified by school principal, head, or counsellor. Notarized copies are not acceptable.
English Language Admission Standard: Canadian Academic English Language assessment - Overall 70; Cambridge English Qualifications – 180; UBC Certificate in English – 600; International English Language Testing System (Academic) - 6.5, with no part less than 6.0; Pearson Test of English (Academic) - Overall: 65, Reading: 60, Listening: 60, Writing: 60, Speaking: 60; Test of English as a Foreign Language Internet-based test - Overall: 90, Reading: 22, Listening: 22, Writing: 21, Speaking: 21.
