The MSc is a research-oriented master's program culminating in a thesis. Spanning two years, this degree enables students to hone their research capabilities and scientific communication skills, equipping them for either PhD pursuits or careers in industry and government sectors. Prior to applying for the REES Master of Science, applicants should carefully review both admission criteria and program expectations. It's important to note that securing a supervisor beforehand isn't mandatory. The Risk and Community Resilience concentration explores diverse facets of socio-ecological interactions, prompting critical examination of how communities worldwide perceive and adapt to environmental shifts—from ecological fluctuations and climate transformations to natural resource exploitation. Students may concentrate on key areas such as community-led resource governance, Indigenous wisdom traditions, Arctic and planetary climate shifts, sustainable food systems, and holistic health approaches.
