Developmental Science examines human growth, transformation, and individual differences in social-emotional, behavioral, and cognitive domains throughout life. Our faculty employ cutting-edge quantitative methods to study developmental processes across various timescales, analytical levels, and contexts. Current research in this area concentrates on four key domains:
Cognitive Development and Aging - investigations into executive functioning, healthy aging processes, and neurodegenerative conditions like dementia and Alzheimer's.
Social Cognition - research on the formation of age-related stereotypes and their societal consequences.
Developmental Neuroscience and Neurogenetics - explorations of brain-gene-environment-cognition interactions during development.
Social and Emotional Development - studies focusing on mental health, emotional regulation, and interpersonal relationships across developmental stages.
