The Department of Oncology boasts over 123 primary faculty members and around 62 adjunct faculty from other departments across its seven Divisions. Based at the Cross Cancer Institute—a leading cancer center partnered with the University of Alberta—the Department also operates at the Katz Group Centre for Pharmacy and Health Research and the Medical Isotopes and Cyclotron Facility (MICF). It features cutting-edge resources for cell imaging, flow cytometry, genetic analysis, computational drug development, animal and human imaging, and radiation therapy. Faculty members contribute to medical education for undergraduates and postgraduates while spearheading significant research projects, from clinical trials to fundamental studies on cancer's origins, detection, and treatment. The Department provides Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degree programs, with exceptional undergraduate students or MSc graduates eligible for direct PhD admission.

3 Letters of reference
TOEFL (internet-based): A minimum overall score of 95 with a minimum of 21 on each individual skill area.
Academic IELTS: A minimum overall band score of 7.0 with a minimum of 6.5 in each band.

A four-year baccalaureate degree, or its academic equivalent, from an academic institution recognized by the University of Alberta.
An admission grade point average of 3.3 on most 4-point grading systems or B+ on most letter grading systems, based on your most recent two years of full time study (or equivalent) is required.
