The MMI program provides PhD and thesis-focused MSc degrees with specializations in Bacteriology, Immunology, Parasitology, and Virology. Studies concentrate on molecular and cellular immunology, microbial disease mechanisms, and innovative diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for infections. Program components involve discipline-specific coursework, teaching practice, and honing research presentation abilities. The curriculum facilitates smooth progression from MSc to PhD studies, with an optional rotation system available to all incoming students. Through the Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology, candidates can pursue Master of Science or Doctor of Philosophy degrees, specializing in bacteriology, immunology, parasitology, or virology. Both degree paths mandate coursework, research projects, and thesis preparation.

Department faculty are actively engaged in diverse research areas including molecular, cellular, reproductive, and cancer immunology; microbial disease processes; and pioneering diagnostic techniques and treatments for infectious diseases.
