Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) research explores various domains including scientific and medical visualization (such as displaying simple organisms, forecasting space weather, and visualizing CT/MRI scans for neurosurgery), computational guidance, surgical training aids (like motion tracking and tactile feedback systems), digital therapy tools, telepresence technologies (including real-time image transformation and scene separation), analysis of satellite imagery, wayfinding systems, and associated fields.

Qualification Requirements
A 3.0 GPA is typically the minimum GPA for acceptance in an MSc or PhD program. However, we may consider slightly lower GPAs in exceptional circumstances or due to small discrepancies in international GPA conversion rates. Meeting the 3.0 GPA minimum requirement does not guarantee admission. Our department admissions process is highly competitive and the Admissions Committee often selects students with a 3.5 GPA or higher.
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL iBT, in-person or special at-home edition) - A minimum TOEFL score of 100 with a minimum score of 21 on each of the individual skill areas (internet-based), or equivalent, Academic International English Language Testing System IELTS - Academic - A minimum overall band score of 7.0 with a minimum score of 6.5 on each band. Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (either CAEL [paper] or CAEL CE [computer]) - A minimum overall score of 70 on the CAEL with at least 60 on each subtest.
