The Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering, along with the School of Mining & Petroleum Engineering, provides both undergraduate and graduate students with top-tier education and state-of-the-art facilities in North America. Qualification Requirements

A baccalaureate degree or its academic equivalent from an accredited academic institution recognized by the University of Alberta.
3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale on the most recent two-years of full-time study (or equivalent) (MSc Program)
3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale on the most recent two-years of full-time study (or equivalent) (MEng Program)
3.3 GPA on a 4.0 scale on the most recent two-years of full-time study (or equivalent) (PhD Program)
The Department's minimum admission requirements are a four-year undergraduate degree with an average of 3.0 in the last two years of undergraduate work (or graduate work) at the University of Alberta, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution and a TOEFL score of 90 (internet-based with at least 21 per section) or an equivalent approved English language examination where applicable. English is the primary language of instruction and communication at the University of Alberta, and all applicants must be proficient in English before admission. International applicants must be able to demonstrate English Language Proficiency (ELP) at the time of application. You can demonstrate ELP in several ways, including education, examination and secondary school coursework. TOEFL iBT, in-person or special at-home edition - Total score of 90 with a score of at least 21 on each of the individual skill areas (internet-based) or equivalent. IELTS - 6.5, with at least 6.0 on each test band. Canadian Academic English Language Assessment - Overall 70 with at least 60 on each subtest.
