By enrolling in this distinctive program, you'll master core economic principles along with relevant mathematical and statistical techniques, while also developing deeper insight into the underlying math and statistics. This curriculum delivers a well-rounded education spanning mathematics, finance, economics, and actuarial sciences, creating a strong foundation for finance or business-oriented careers. The Honors Bachelor of Science program provides intensive specialization in a chosen field for students passionate about scientific inquiry. Each program includes a mandatory research thesis component and requires maintaining superior academic performance compared to standard BSc Major degrees. While students may complement their studies with a minor from Arts, Native Studies, Business, or Agricultural, Life & Environmental Sciences faculties, this choice limits elective course options. The Honors program does not permit double majors. The University of Alberta's Faculty of Science offers 65 rigorous degree programs across 30 disciplines, featuring cutting-edge facilities, undergraduate research opportunities, and renowned faculty researchers - making it one of Canada's most comprehensive science institutions dedicated to exploring the scientific foundations of everyday phenomena.
