This program equips you with techniques to evaluate and reduce the effects of development projects and resource utilization, while rehabilitating damaged ecosystems. You'll acquire both theoretical understanding and hands-on abilities for remediation work, soil restoration, revegetation, environmental evaluations, and land management strategies. Through our Bachelor of Science in Environmental and Conservation Sciences offered by the Faculty of Agricultural, Life & Environmental Sciences, you'll explore and create practical solutions for critical environmental challenges including habitat preservation, water resource management, species protection, and climate resilience. The program includes participation in a 10-day field study component and culminates with a project-focused capstone course.

Qualification Requirements

English is the primary language of instruction in all Faculties except Facult Saint-Jean. All undergraduate applicants to any program or course except Facult Saint-Jean need an adequate level of English language proficiency before admission, regardless of their citizenship status or country of origin. The University of Alberta reserves the right to use discretion in determining adequate levels of language proficiency to ensure success in academic programs.
Graduation from a recognized degree program offered by an accredited university at which English is the primary language of instruction or in a country where English is the primary language.
A score of at least 90 on the TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language - Internet-based) with no less than 21 on each band.
A score of at least 6.5 on the IELTS Academic (International English Language Testing System) with no band less than 6.0.
A score of at least 70 on the Canadian Academic English Language assessment: CAEL (paper) or CAEL CE (computer) with no band less than 60.
