The Honors in Computing Science - Software Practice program caters to students passionate about every facet of software development. This comprehensive curriculum offers diverse courses to build expertise in programming, algorithms, hardware systems, software architecture, interface design, project leadership, and commercial considerations. The Bachelor of Science with Honors provides focused, advanced training in specialized disciplines for students inclined toward scientific inquiry. Each program includes a mandatory research thesis component and requires maintaining superior academic performance compared to standard BSc Major degrees. While students may complement their studies with a minor from Arts, Native Studies, Business, or Agricultural, Life & Environmental Sciences, this choice limits elective options. The Honors program does not permit double majors.

The University of Alberta's Faculty of Science offers exceptional programs that examine, clarify, and address the scientific foundations of everyday challenges. As one of Canada's most extensive science faculties, we provide 65 degree options across 30 disciplines, featuring cutting-edge educational resources, undergraduate research opportunities, and instruction from renowned researchers who are leaders in their respective fields.
