Drama can be pursued as either a primary or secondary specialization within the Bachelor of Secondary Education. The curriculum covers diverse theatrical disciplines including performance theory, historical context of theater, script analysis, creative writing for stage, production direction, comedic movement, and one-person shows. Teaching is more than a profession—it's a vocation, and we're committed to shaping educators who will leave a lasting impact on their students. Our Faculty of Education's Secondary Education program equips you to inspire grades 7-12 learners across various subjects. You'll select two focus areas—a primary and secondary specialization—tailoring your academic journey to align with your interests.

The program structure incorporates two practical teaching components: a five-week Introductory Professional Term (IPT) followed by a more intensive nine-week Advanced Professional Term (APT). Typically, you'll instruct in your primary specialization during both terms. While designed as a four-year undergraduate path, this program also accommodates post-degree candidates. Graduates qualify for Alberta teacher certification upon successful completion.
