The Creativity & Culture program combines humanities disciplines (including literature, languages, cultural studies, art history, and music history) with fine arts practices (such as studio art, creative writing, music, and drama). Learners concentrate on analyzing and employing various forms of expression—words, visuals, and audio—to interact with cultural creations. While conventional humanities and arts degrees develop specialized skills within single disciplines, our approach introduces students to diverse methodologies, empowering them to craft individualized educational journeys.
Augustana's intimate campus sits in Camrose, Alberta, merely an hour's drive southeast of Edmonton. This liberal arts institution welcomes approximately 1,000 students annually, representing both Canadian and international communities. With an average class size of 22, Augustana provides personalized degree programs through its distinctive academic structure: each term begins with an intensive three-week single-course session, followed by an 11-week period where students can enroll in up to four courses. This innovative schedule enables deeper research opportunities, study abroad experiences, and hands-on learning while simultaneously alleviating academic pressure.
