Political science and governance studies examine government's societal functions and their connections to justice, democracy, civic participation, and fundamental freedoms. It explores policymaking at various levels and conflict resolution methods. The curriculum features interactive simulations, community initiatives, research projects, practical fieldwork, and global exchange options. Graduates gain expertise to evaluate and tackle societal, economic, ecological, and political issues while guiding communities through modern complexities.
This program belongs to a group of 10 arts degrees sharing a common first-year curriculum.
Second-year dual degree possibilities include: Political Science with Criminology, Political Science with History, or Political Science with Sociology.

Qualification Requirements
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with a minimum of six Grade 12 U or M courses including the following program specific requirements.
Typically, a minimum overall average of 70% establishes eligibility for admission consideration; subject to competition individual programs may require higher prerequisite grades and/or higher overall averages:
A minimum grade of 70% or higher will be required in Grade 12 U English/anglais (ENG4U/EAE4U preferred)
Applicants who have completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma must present grades of 4 or higher in three Higher Level and three Standard Level subjects, including prerequisite subjects, and a total score of 28 or higher (bonus points will be accepted).
