The Economics and Finance degree program (previously called International Economics and Finance) teaches students about market interconnections while developing analytical skills for informed decision-making. The curriculum provides focused instruction in economics, finance, mathematics, and statistical methods. Students may choose to participate in paid cooperative education opportunities. Graduates of this program will be equipped for professional roles in finance or public sector positions, with many continuing their education through graduate or doctoral programs. This degree is among 11 bachelor of arts programs that begin with a shared foundational year.
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with a minimum of six Grade 12 U or M courses including the following program specific requirements.
Typically, a minimum overall average of 70% establishes eligibility for admission consideration; subject to competition individual programs may require higher prerequisite grades and/or higher overall averages:
Applicants who have completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma must present grades of 4 or higher in three Higher Level and three Standard Level subjects, including prerequisite subjects, and a total score of 28 or higher (bonus points will be accepted).
