The Political and International Studies program provides an interdisciplinary framework for analyzing the evolving relationships between Western Canada and the Asia-Pacific region. Through four core themes—Canadian affairs, global politics, Indigenous perspectives, and theoretical approaches—students gain insight into the historical, social, and political contexts shaping contemporary issues. The curriculum explores diverse subjects such as migration patterns, temporary foreign workers, colonial legacies, educational exchanges, economic investments, sister-city partnerships, and commercial relations. This post-baccalaureate Diploma emphasizes Canada's role in global affairs, examining how these complex interactions influence national prosperity and international obligations. Over two years, participants gain specialized knowledge about emerging research fields and professional pathways stemming from the vibrant exchange of people, goods, services, and concepts between these interconnected regions.
