Explore art creation and art history through hands-on studio classes and theoretical studies across diverse mediums. This 30-credit certificate program combines foundational courses with advanced studio work. Graduates have exhibited their artwork in galleries nationwide. At Thompson Rivers University, Visual Arts students enjoy dual benefits: coursework applies simultaneously toward a Certificate, Diploma, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Arts with a Visual Arts Minor, or other degree programs. The Certificate introduces contemporary art techniques in both 2D and 3D formats, focusing on 2D design, drawing, painting, color theory, printmaking, photography, 3D design, sculpture, and ceramics. This credential enhances resumes for employment opportunities or academic programs requiring visual arts experience.
