As a power engineer, your role involves maintaining and operating heating and power plants, refrigeration systems, and supporting equipment such as pumps, compressors, steam turbines, electrical generators, cooling towers, and water treatment systems. You could work in various settings, from commercial buildings like hospitals, schools, and apartments to industrial sites such as pulp mills, manufacturing plants, power stations, and petrochemical facilities.
What you'll learn
Eight weeks of practical training on TRU’s boiler plant for hands-on operational experience.
Fundamental electrical skills (two-week course).
Introductory welding techniques (one-week course).
Practical training in pipefitting, millwrighting, and instrumentation.
