The Bachelor of Science Major in Computing Science is a four-year undergraduate program offering comprehensive scientific education in the initial two years, followed by specialized computing science training in the final two years. This prepares graduates for diverse career paths, advanced academic pursuits, and research roles. Students can also opt for a cooperative education track within this major.
All TRU Bachelor of Science programs begin with two foundational years emphasizing scientific fundamentals, communication development (verbal, written, and digital), and completion of prerequisite coursework. Students typically join the BSc program after completing their second year, having earned approximately 60 credits (with a minimum requirement of 48 credits for admission). The degree's final 60 credits are usually completed in two years of full-time study (four semesters), though part-time enrollment is available. Graduates will possess both broad scientific understanding and specialized expertise, along with critical analysis and research capabilities developed throughout the program.
TRU programs generally require BC high school graduation or equivalent.
