Economics examines how economies function, their historical development, the issues they pose for fairness and justice in society, and how people work to transform economic systems. This discipline applies the analytical rigor of liberal arts to understanding economic systems. Students explore diverse approaches communities use to allocate resources—whether monetary, environmental, material, or service-based. The curriculum investigates both economic mechanisms and their origins, the societal inequalities they generate, and collective efforts to reshape economic structures. Our program stands out by offering specialized tracks in conventional economics and political economy, analyzing connections between markets, governance, and societal impacts.
Intimate class settings that prioritize dialogue, critical thinking, and active participation.
A business minor option covers essential areas including financial reporting, market strategies, wealth management, and organizational leadership.
All instruction comes directly from faculty members—never graduate assistants—ensuring learning from seasoned specialists.
Students gain from professors' deep knowledge in global commerce, wellbeing economics, economic history, environmental economics, and gender-inclusive economic analysis.
