StFX provides a selective, thesis-focused MSc program in Chemistry, typically enrolling 1-4 students each year. Though renowned as a leading undergraduate institution, StFX values its graduate students as integral members of the academic community. The Chemistry Department delivers a rigorous Master of Science program centered on research and thesis completion. The 36-credit curriculum includes 12 credits of graduate coursework (equivalent to four single-term courses) and 24 credits dedicated to original research, encompassing the research project, thesis, and defense. Students must maintain a minimum grade of 70 in each course and an overall 70 average.
