Psychology explores the scientific examination of mental processes, emotions, and actions. This field frequently unlocks deeper comprehension of human nature and interpersonal dynamics, revealing why people behave as they do. At StFX, our psychology program offers valuable perspectives on how researchers formulate inquiries, conduct investigations, and implement findings to address real-world challenges.

StFX psychology students enjoy unique chances to participate directly in psychological studies through laboratory courses, collaborating with faculty, lab instructors, and advanced honors students. Numerous courses incorporate community-based learning components, while others feature professional work placements, allowing you to practice psychological principles in diverse environments.

Our curriculum establishes a strong grounding in fundamental psychological science while providing extensive course options across specialized areas such as forensic psychology, gender studies, human development, social and personality psychology, clinical psychology, cross-cultural psychology, neuroscience, and health psychology.
