Growing awareness of nutrition has led to expanding career prospects in dietetics and nutritional sciences. StFX's Human Nutrition program provides students with comprehensive scientific knowledge about food and nutrition, enhanced by social science insights, communication training, and strategies for driving personal and societal transformation.
Graduates from StFX's Human Nutrition program gain the expertise to support people, communities, and broader populations in reaching their health and nutritional objectives. Our distinguished faculty guide students through a balanced curriculum of theoretical instruction and practical experiences, including laboratory work and community engagement projects.
Nutrition students collaborate with local farmers, food producers, and community groups through our Antigonish Farmers Market initiative to encourage healthier eating habits. The program also covers fundamental sciences relevant to healthcare professions like dietetics, medicine, and pharmacy, while providing specialized applied science training that holds value on its own.
