Statistics serves as the discipline focused on data and proves invaluable across nearly every field of human activity. It encompasses gathering, structuring, condensing, and interpreting data to reach meaningful insights. Statistical methods inherently address variability—the inherent uncertainty that introduces errors during estimation, prediction, or decision-making. Consequently, accurately measuring and minimizing these errors becomes crucial. Probability provides the mathematical framework for understanding uncertainty, serving as the cornerstone of statistical analysis. The applications of statistics span diverse domains: healthcare research, economic indicators like GNP, predictive modeling, financial markets, sociological surveys, policy development, consumer behavior studies, electoral polling, manufacturing quality control, and environmental assessments.
