The Interdisciplinary Studies in AQUATIC RESOURCES (AQUA) program is a dual-major four-year course requiring 120 academic credits, culminating in either a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree.
This Aquatic Resources program provides students with a comprehensive perspective on water systems—including groundwater, watersheds, wetlands, lakes, rivers, and oceans—and explores how human societies manage these resources through various social, economic, and political frameworks.
Some of today's most pressing issues, both now and in the years ahead, revolve around water. Key challenges include climate change, renewable energy development, water privatization and access, coastal community decline, invasive species, conservation efforts, and sustainable food production (fisheries, agriculture, aquaculture).
