This program offers a thorough grounding for aspiring Office Administrators. The one-year Office Administration curriculum equips graduates with diverse office competencies and knowledge of core Canadian business principles, including professional writing. Participants will develop fundamental computer abilities, typing proficiency, editing techniques, and administrative protocols. Individuals possessing strong organizational capabilities, computer aptitude, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills would find this career path particularly suitable. The program covers Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Outlook, Express Scribe Machine Transcription, and SAM software. The Office Administration - General track shares its initial year with both the Office Administration Executive and Health Services programs, enabling graduates to smoothly advance into second-year studies across these specialized fields. Completing either the Office Administration Executive or Health Services program results in an Ontario College Diploma. Through simulated work environments and practical business exercises, students acquire hands-on experience in banking, accounting, and publishing sectors. Virtually all organizations - from corporations and educational institutions to government bodies, financial institutions, and social service providers - require administrative support personnel. Starting roles may include receptionist, accounting clerk, administrative aide, or data entry specialist.
