This program offers people with developmental disabilities and major learning obstacles the chance to experience university life, work toward higher education, and build abilities for future careers. Participants will take specialized CICE program classes alongside their peers. After selecting a career path, each learner will join regular college courses with other students. A Learning Facilitator will offer assistance, potentially attending classes, helping with study techniques, exam readiness, and adapting coursework as needed.
The CICE program's fundamental curriculum focuses on communication, career and daily living skills, and interpersonal relationships. Students can select academic electives from various disciplines. More vocational options may become available as the program expands. Through work placements, CICE participants will strengthen job-related abilities and community engagement. The ultimate aim is for graduates to gain greater independence and potentially move into part-time or full-time paid or volunteer work.
