You'll master journalism fundamentals, covering ethical reporting before exploring diverse fields like marketing, PR, and digital content creation. During your initial year, you'll immerse yourself in news writing, introductory photography, marketing, advertising, PR, publication layout, and digital journalism. This establishes a strong journalistic skill set, equipping you for multiple career paths in media, marketing, digital platforms, and beyond. In year two, you'll hone your abilities in writing, editing, visual design, and digital publishing. You'll practice various writing styles, from news features to blog posts, while developing expertise in editing, corporate communications, advertising copy, and PR. The program concludes with a realistic newsroom simulation where you'll produce content for SAIT's digital publication.
This career path provides versatility to forge your own journey, whether as an independent writer/photographer or as part of a corporate or media organization.
SAIT accepts high school course equivalents for admission. If you don't meet the requirements, consider Academic Upgrading.
English language requirement:
International English Language Testing System (IELTS): 6.0 in each skill/category
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): A minimum score of 20 in each category
Pearson Test of English (PTE): A score of 53 in each section.
