The department provides an honors Bachelor of Science (BSc) program in physical geography, featuring three specialized tracks designed to meet the educational standards for careers or professional certification in environmental and natural resource fields.
(1) The biogeophysical science track delivers a comprehensive selection of environmental science courses focused on physical geography, covering biogeography, soil science, hydrology, landforms, and climate studies. This path aligns with the qualifications necessary to pursue Professional Agrologist certification in British Columbia, a competency-based credential essential for environmental and natural resource professions.
(2) The geoscience track provides studies in environmental earth sciences, concentrating on landform processes, geological sciences, water systems, soil science, and atmospheric studies. This prepares students to meet the educational criteria for becoming a licensed professional geoscientist (environmental geoscience) in Canada, a vital certification for environmental and resource management careers.
(3) The geosystems and GIScience track focuses on developing the expertise needed to implement geographic information science principles and methods within environmental and natural resource industries.
