At its core, Political Science examines systems of power. The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences provides a Political Science program featuring a minor option, an African studies certificate, and three combined major pathways. Students can begin this program at either Burnaby or Surrey campus locations.
SFU's Political Science department boasts numerous distinguished faculty members, including full-time professors and sessional instructors, who produce high-caliber research published in leading academic journals through varied methodological approaches. Our courses, available across all three SFU campuses - Burnaby, Surrey, and downtown Vancouver - equip students with skills for community engagement and rewarding career opportunities.
