For those pursuing international English teaching opportunities, the Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) could be your gateway. Globally recognized, CELTA is frequently specified by employers. As an authorized CELTA Center endorsed by the University of Cambridge, Sheridan provides hands-on training that aligns with Cambridge's rigorous CELTA requirements, culminating in certification upon completion.

Throughout this program, you'll observe seasoned educators while mastering contemporary teaching approaches and refining your instructional methods in real ESL classroom settings. The curriculum includes specialized practicum courses each term, offering opportunities to work with Sheridan's ESL students, newcomers through our LINC program, or external learners.

During your initial term practicum, you'll receive personalized guidance with a maximum 6:1 student-instructor ratio. In your second term, a dedicated mentor will provide ongoing support throughout your teaching experience.
