Sheridan's accredited Paralegal program prepares you to take the Law Society of Ontario licensing exam, an essential step for practicing as a paralegal in Ontario. You'll learn from experienced legal professionals who will equip you with the skills needed for this demanding career.
What you'll study
Handling prosecution and defense for summary conviction and provincial offenses.
Procedures for small claims court.
Strong advocacy skills for tribunals including the Landlord and Tenant Board, Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, and Human Rights Tribunal. Legal research and writing techniques.
Career Paths
After finishing Sheridan's Paralegal program, you'll meet all educational requirements to sit for the professional licensing exam, opening doors to various employment opportunities.

Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, including these required courses:
One English, Grade 12 (ENG4C or ENG4U), minimum 60% 
Minimum 65% overall average or
Mature student status.

IELTS - overall score 6.0 with no individual band below 5.5
TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language) and TOEFL iBT Home Edition (DI Code: 9117) - overall score 80 with no individual section below 20
iTEP Academic - overall score 3.7
PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English) online or in person - overall score 58 with no individual section below 49
Duolingo English Language Test - overall score of 105 with no individual subscore lower than 85
Cambridge English Test Exams (B2 First/C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency score) - overall Cambridge English Scale score 169 with no individual score below 162
CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language) online or in person - overall score 60 with no individual section below 50
Sheridan EPA test - Listening Band - 4.0 Reading Combined Band - 4.0 Writing - CLB 7
Sheridan's ESL program EAP level - A minimum score of 70% in listening and speaking and 70% in reading and writing. General Education courses and Navigating Digital Environments (INFO) minimum required grade of 50%.
