Sheridan's Journalism program has empowered numerous storytellers to begin their careers in media. Through this program, you'll master storytelling across multiple platforms, equipping you for roles in digital media, broadcasting, television, PR, marketing, graphic design, editing, writing, reporting, and beyond.
You'll gain hands-on experience in our cutting-edge HD-TV news studio, producing live broadcasts for the college community and online audiences. Additionally, you'll craft news articles, capture photographs, and produce video content for the Sheridan Sun across web, TV, and radio platforms. During your final term, you'll put your skills into practice through a professional placement with Canadian media organizations, including broadcasters, digital outlets, newspapers, or magazines.
Career Pathways
Our distinguished alumni hold positions at major media organizations including CTV, CBC, The Fight Network, Corus Entertainment, the Toronto Star, Hamilton Spectator, and Fortune 500 corporations.

Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, including these required courses:
One English, Grade 12 (ENG 4C or ENG 4U), minimum 65% Or
Mature student status.

iTEP Academic - overall score 3.7
PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English) online or in person - overall score 58 with no individual section below 49
Duolingo English Language Test - overall score of 105 with no individual subscore lower than 85
Cambridge English Test Exams (B2 First/C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency score) - overall Cambridge English Scale score 169 with no individual score below 162
CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language) online or in person - overall score 60 with no individual section below 50
Sheridan EPA test - Listening Band - 4.0 Reading Combined Band - 4.0 Writing - CLB 7
Sheridan's ESL program EAP level - A minimum score of 70% in listening and speaking and 70% in reading and writing. General Education courses and Navigating Digital Environments (INFO) minimum required grade of 50%.
