This program enhances your abilities in critical analysis, effective communication, data collection, conducting interviews, pinpointing issues, conducting research, and resolving problems. You'll master using technology to showcase your investigative results while gaining essential professional competencies and learning industry standards.
During Year 2, you'll engage in either a paid or unpaid field placement, arranged with the Field Placement Coordinator, within a relevant private or public sector organization (such as investigation firms, insurance companies, security agencies, or public safety departments) to acquire practical field experience.
Career Paths
Upon completing Sheridan’s Investigation – Public and Private program, you'll be prepared for a dynamic career in investigations.

Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, including these required courses:
One English, Grade 12 (ENG4C or ENG4U) or
Mature student status.

iTEP Academic - overall score 3.7
PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English) online or in person - overall score 58 with no individual section below 49
Duolingo English Language Test - overall score of 105 with no individual subscore lower than 85
Cambridge English Test Exams (B2 First/C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency score) - overall Cambridge English Scale score 169 with no individual score below 162
CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language) online or in person - overall score 60 with no individual section below 50
Sheridan EPA test - Listening Band - 4.0 Reading Combined Band - 4.0 Writing - CLB 7
Sheridan's ESL program EAP level - A minimum score of 70% in listening and speaking and 70% in reading and writing. General Education courses and Navigating Digital Environments (INFO) minimum required grade of 50%.
